on the thrust ball bearings.

This scheme throws more load on to the cam ball nearest to the lever, and for this reason the cam levers are increased in length as the disturbing force is thereby diminished for the same torque.

We have deleted the key between the inner disc and the shaft as we think that the friction on the taper will suffice to prevent the shaft being turned by the adjusting nut.

The ball thrust race adjacent to the bridge is not threaded as we think that the spring load will be sufficient to prevent the pieces separating.

The cross member supporting the rear end of the gearbox must be turned round so that the flanges project to the rear to give clearance for the balance lever.
