With reference to Hsl/MA/12-12-31, report on the 10,000 mile test on 18-G-IV, and the item "Dynamo failed to keep Battery charged" ; this failure to keep the Battery charged is what we should expect from this type of Dynamo where the speeds are maintained in the neighbourhood of 70-80 miles per hour for long periods. With the 3rd. brush control type of Dynamo, it is not possible to meet the requirements of the speed range from 5 m.p.h. to 80 m.p.h., but with the new type of machine and voltage regulator system, which we are proposing for "Japan", this disability will be dispensed with and there should be no difficulty in maintaining a charged Battery for all the speeds required.
