We know with a fair degree of certainty that this would apply equally with H.T. wires of Super Glover type.

The wires are particularly affected where they pass through the tube under the main central exhaust down tube, and the two centre wires leading from the ignition tube to cylinders 3 and 4 are directly exposed to rather serious radiation. The surface of the ignition tube itself is also affected in the central region, and altogether it would appear that some alteration or slight shielding is necessary.
From time to time we have asked for an alteration to overcome the heat effect above described but the conditions on production still remain as initially.

In view of the susceptibility of the present covering of H.T. wire to heat either radiant or by contact, we have asked for experimental samples of varnished cambric covered Maconita H.T. cable similar to that used in a number of other cars seen at the Show.
