W.R. Sutton, Esq., Cheadle Hulme. - Chassis No.45-C-3. 16.2.23. Chassis despatched from Works. [Handwritten: Fault 1] 14.5.23. Delivered to a customer named Mr. Blake. [Handwritten: Why did he sell?] Nov.23. Car purchased by Mr. Sutton. 28.5.24. Owner complained of steering wobble. Friction device fitted by R.R. man. CHARGED TO A.T.D. 4.7.24. Electrical system reported faulty. Trouble due to 7.J.A. coil in automatic cut-out shorting, and affecting the dynamo. New dynamo and distributor box with cut-out fitted. CHARGED TO WORKS POLICY. 8.8.24. New coil sent to replace other faulty. [Handwritten: Ignition coil?] 1.9.24. Car in works for - Engine clean & tune up. Cure leaking accumulator, and make coil & speedometer O.K. 27.3.25. Electrical system again reported faulty. Side lamp cable found shorting and renewed. CUSTOMER CHARGED. 31.3.25. Mr. Sutton said fuse continually blowing, and side & tail lamp circuits faulty. Head lamp cables found faulty and renewed. CHARGED TO R.D/R.D.W. 23.8.25. Side & rear lights again short circuiting. Lamp adapter wire found to be trapped and renewed. CHARGED TO R.D./R.D.W. 23.9.25. Starter motor reported faulty. Bendix drive spring found broken and replaced by new type Bijur drive starter motor. CHARGED TO A.T.D. 21.12.25. Owner complained of faulty ignitions. Coil found to have failed in secondary winding. Coil and ballast resistance fitted and engine also cleaned. COIL & RESISTANCE CHARGED A.T.D. REMAINDER AGAINST CUSTOMER. 15.1.26. Ignitions again reported faulty. Trouble due to internal failure of coil through breakdown of primary winding. New coil fitted. 1.2.26. Car expected in Works for fitting RO.{C. C. Rose - Export Manager}1 magneto etc. CAPTAIN HALLAM DESIRES THE CAR TO HAVE SPECIAL ATTENTION. | ||
