and another made out of one piece of material bent to shape.
The latter does not require so much space for the same degree of flexibility.
The one piece spring could be made out of thin bronze or from steel and tempered tothe proper shape on a former.
Bronze would have the advantage of giving less bow spring load for the same deflection, and hence more constant oil pressure.
ACCESSIBILITY OF VALVE.
As we have not received any particular complaint of accessibility of the 20HP. valve we have mounted the new valve as before on the bottom of the pump.
Taking into account the increased reliability we hope to get with this valve we think this should be satisfactory.
It would add complication with very little increase of accessibility to transfer the valve to the wheelcase where the relief oil is sprayed on the gears, and there would be more pipe line under high pressure.
INSTRUCTIONS TO WORKS.
Unless we hear fromyou to the contrary we propose to instruct LeC. 2207. pump casing with both types of how springs.
