SILVER PHANTOM & CRESTA.

Scale outline drawings have been prepared by Rolls-Royce for the limousine and 4-light saloon with a view to making as many of the components as possible interchangeable as follows: The complete front of the body including doors; roof side panels; front seat and division (if required); wings and step boards. We consider that Park Ward should now make full size working drawings, and detail drawings as necessary, also specifications. This would enable them to start production of bodies whenever they were required with minimum delay.

MYTH - 4-LIGHT SALOON.

DRAWINGS.

The full size layout drawing of this body is 75% completed. We estimate that it will take 1000 man hours (i.e. 3 months with our existing staff) to complete the drawings for the sample body which is being made as near as possible in every respect to correspond with what will be produced from tools in production. The time required for making detail drawings suitable for production from tools is 4,500 man hours (i.e. with a staff of six men constantly working on this job, 4 1/2 months).

If provision is made for producing the 6-light body in conjunction with the 4-light, it will take a further 500 man hours (i.e. six weeks for 2 men).

SAMPLE BODY.

Park Wards have been supplied with drawings to enable them to make the majority of the necessary jigs; (these are being made) and also to commence work on the panels for the sample body. They are being supplied with information regarding the frame work and reinforcements as drawings are completed. Outside suppliers are also working with us on designs and samples of fittings.

REMARKS.

We have departed from the usual procedure adopted in this country, by having the first sample body constructed as quantity production bodies will be when produced from tools.
