X523 GRY{Shadwell Grylls} WYM{G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager} Noted Sft.{Mr Swift} c. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Ey. Dag. RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} E.7/MP.29.1.36. 25-30 Chassis Costs. Enamelled Induction Pipe. With reference to the suggestion to use a black enamelled induction pipe on this chassis, we agree with this proposal if it is established that the appearance is acceptable to Sales, and if a saving in cost is achieved by the alteration. We have arranged with RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} to fit such a pipe to 22-G-V for its forthcoming 10,000 miles test in order to establish its reliability from the point of view of the enamel not being burnt off the pipe during use. We would like it arranged that this car is shown to Sales on its way out to obtain their opinion as regards the appearance, and we should also be glad if Sft.{Mr Swift} will let us know what saving in cost is likely to be achieved by the change. In the meantime we do not think it advisable to put it on production until the 10,000 miles test is completed, and a standardisation sheet completed. E/Lld. | ||
