We would point out that if the heater is recessed flush with its surroundings, it is just as important for provision to be made for a cool inlet air supply to the back of the fan before passing through the matrix, as for a hot air exit to be provided for the Clayton Heater. Attached sketch indicates what is meant. The old type Harrison heater which you had fitted up in 36-EX had no such provision made and therefore had a negligible heating effect. Summing up, there seems to be few advantages obtained by changing to the Harrison heater, while a number of disadvantages are apparent.
