to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} ORIGINAL X8774 EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/9.4.27. RE 10 EX. SPORTS . I tried 10.EX. on Thursday and have wired you that it is ready for you to collect. The scuttle is now extremely steady and free from "jellying", and the wings are quite effective, having had lips fitted. We are expecting that you will carryout the following work before "R" has the car at W.W. (1) Fit up Zeiss Lamps. (2) Fit distant reading gauge to the petrol tank. (3) Make and fit a special undersheet which will extend as far as the rear of the chassis as is possible (4) Fit revised steering column, pedals, and footboards. (5) Fit a second screen wiper on the near-side of the screen. We think that this might be an electric one. We could have fitted two Smith Wipers, but we have found the the drive in the gear box is not strong enough to take the load impos-ed.{J. L. Edwards} (6) Fit a revised bonnet having our latest fasteners. The bonnet should be painted Curzon Blue and in no case should the car be fitted with a polished bonnet. We have asked Barkers to send you some paint. (7) Fit Hartford Shock Dampers to the front axle. We have arranged for their brackets by fitting .250ins packings under the forward front wing stay sockets. Most of this information was given in detail on EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/21.1.27. We think that it would be wise to wait events before fitting springs with reduced bumps unless you have aleady arranged to do so. The front cushion can be raised or lowered by varying the i inflation, but we would warn you against over inflation which is very uncomfortable. EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
