1166 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}9/MH.{M. Huckerby} 2nd. May, 1939. Messrs. Smith's Jacking Systems Ltd., Edgware Road, Cricklewood, LONDON, N.W.2. For the attention of D.W.Sessions, Esq. Dear Sirs, Thank you for your letter of May 1st. We hope to send you the alum bronze forks at the beginning of next week. We note you will be sending us eight jacks with filters shortly. Naturally we should like one with the double valve arrangement as soon as possible to make sure it has no snags. As regards jacking on a hill, we have tested fairly extreme conditions with the brakes applied. We shall not blame the jack for what happens if cars are jacked without having the brakes on, nor shall we be sympathetic to anyone who does this. An official order is being sent to you for the connecting fork die. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
