COPY. Hotel Metropole Cannes. 9/2/24 CJ. We reached this place yesterday evening, coming over the Col de la{L. A. Archer} Croix Haute. Snow not too bad. Ice difficult and slippery in places. The iron servo shoes put on at Beaune seemed to require taking up almost as much as did the ferodo shoes, making the corner work on the thousands of hair-pin bends very uncertain. Nothing material to report. Clutch slipped badly latterly, so stronger springs are now being put in and sundry other jobs attended to before running over to Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence on Monday. Cholmondeley was full of praise of his Hispano. I hope the chassis to come here in a fortnight or so may be suitable to show and interest Lord Cholmondeley. P.N. | ||
