Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} ORIGINAL C.R. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/LG19.1.20. X.34616. NEW TYPE REAR SHOCK ABSORBERS. X 3451 We have had a case where petrol and air pressure has leaked through from the tank into the rear shock absorber. We examined it as far as we could without cutting up the tank and could not see any signs of the pieces coming apart. We think it must be due to the badly soldered pieces on the tube in the first place. We suggest, however, that the design should altered so that we do not rely upon a soldered joint to remain pressure and petrol tight. We think it is important that this point should be considered at once as the Works are now producing the pieces. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
