What Dust Does to Your Motor

Valves
All air contains flying particles of dust, grit or sand. Road air, which the automobile engine must inhale is heavily laden with gritty material.
A body of air one mile long and a foot square is drawn into a running engine every hour. You can readily see the vast amount of harmful dirt that reaches the inside of the engine.

Pistons & Rings
This dirt mixes with oil on the cylinder walls. The pistons work up and down with this liquid grinding compound between them and the cylinder walls. Valves, pistons, rings and cylinder walls cannot resist this powerful abrasive and rapid and undue wear is the result.

Bearings
From the cylinder wall the foreign matter is washed into the crank case oil and gritty lubricant is then circulated to all bearings and every moving part. No internal part escapes this destructive “grind.”

Carbon
Dust adhering to the top of the pistons is burned into a slag under the intense heat of the combustion chamber. 80% to 95% of carbon is ROAD DUST.

Read The Standard Oil Decision
A quotation from The Standard Oil Co.’s Hand Book says: “analysis of nearly a hundred samples of the pasty substance that accumulates in the crank case has shown that from 90 to 98 per cent of the accumulation consists of dirt, sand and other foreign matter.”

What United Air Cleaner Does to Dust

It throws the dust and dirt aside and permits only clean air to enter the motor.
Just as cream is separated from milk in a cream separator so dust—the heavy substance in the air—is “cast” out of the stream that goes to vaporize the gasoline.
It is positive in action. The human element is entirely eliminated. The United Air Cleaner starts and stops with the engine and requires absolutely no attention.
It is light in weight, the size for most cars being only 18 ounces. There is a size and fitting for all makes of carburetors.

What Car Owners Should Do

Those who have cars not equipped with United Air Cleaners can profit by the decision of 85 motor manufacturers who now equip their engines with this protective device.
Have the United Air Cleaner placed on your car at once and save the great upkeep expense caused by dust.
It costs ten times more to have your carbon removed, cylinders rebored, rings replaced, bearings renewed etc., than it does to simply put on The United Air Cleaner.
In addition you have the continued use of a snappy powerful engine that you know is not being ground to death by dust.
