It has been proposed by Mr. Olley that on future cars we should only use the 3-speed gear box.

We think that most of us at the Works who have had experience of running cars with 3-speed and 4-speed boxes consider that 4-speeds is very much better. We should be pleased if you will write your views on this matter which we intend to forward to Mr. Royce.
