35-EX.

The tappets having become noisy on this car, I asked Hamilton to bring the car up here this morning. The investigation has proved that something is happening either to the pushrods or the rollers. Tappet clearance has increased to an extent that the plungers cannot deal with it. We are leaving them as they are so that the defect can be seen at Derby. We shall proceed to the Works Monday morning.
