To G.W. Hancock Esq., Hotel de France, Chateauroux, Indre, France. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}12/KW. 24.4.35. Many thanks for your various memos. We are preparing some Hartford pieces to send out to you so that you can try them with the thick leaf front springs. With regard to the rear springs, we recommend that you also get comparative figures of the standard springs against the thick leaf springs. We are trying a larger crankshaft damper here and if it is successful we will send it out to you. With regard to the spring driven clutch centre, we are making up another one in heavier gauge material. When you get the larger wheels we should like a value for the high compression head on the track. You can doubtless borrow a standard head in Paris and get comparative figures. We are sending out some new pieces for the exhaust system so that you can carry on with the straight through pipe. Will you please return the axle complete with the 14" brake mechanism to Derby.
