Checklist of regular and periodic (5,000 miles) maintenance points for a car.

Points for Regular Attention According to the use of the Car.

(1) Engine Oil - Inspect oil level and top up as necessary with correct oil. (See page ....)
(2) Radiator Water - Inspect water level in radiator, and maintain so that water is visible when the filler cap is removed and the engine is hot.
(3) Chassis Lubrication - Depress oil pump pedal once while engine is being started for the first time in the day, and subsequently every 200 miles. (If the car is to be driven only a few miles half a pumpful will be sufficient at first starting). Replenish reservoir as necessary, but do not fill to within less than an inch of filler plug.
(4) Tyre Pressures - Check the tyre pressures.
These should be -
Front 25 lbs/sq.in. } Cold.
Rear 30 lbs/sq.in. }
(5) Testing Petrol Pumps - This should be done while the engine is running, the special switch provided on the instrument board being turned for a few minutes to both the A and the B positions separately, proving that both units of the pump are working. In the event of pump failure the engine will stop.
(6) Brakes - Check brake adjustment. (See page ....)
(7) Battery Level - Check level of acid in each Battery cell.

Points for Attention Every 5,000 Miles.
Lubrication.

(1) Governor Lubrication - Apply two or three drops of engine oil to the felt pad under the distributor rotor. Access to this pad is obtained by removing distributor cap and rotor.
