To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from CJ.
Front wheel brakes.
I do not want to worry R.{Sir Henry Royce} unnecessarily. Therefore I am writing to you. R.{Sir Henry Royce} writes: 'With the exception of slight minor defects we cannot see much seriously wrong with the system as we originally suggested it - a semi-Servo with a direct foot braking on the front wheels and servo acting on the back wheels.'
I note that on the 26th October in an Experimental Report you said that the front brakes had to be reasonably effective when shunting because the front brakes will have to do all the braking going backwards.
I presume that the latest ideas on front wheel braking will overcome this difficulty?
CJ.
