V6153 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.8/MA. 9th May, 1935. Messrs.E.K.Cole, Ltd., Ekco Works, Southend-on-sea. For the attention of Mr.R.I.Cowley. Dear Sir, The metal braided cable which has been used for the internal body light wiring on the experimental Park Ward 40/50 HP. chassis fitted with the Ekco Wireless Set is not at all suitable because the braiding is not sufficiently insulated externally. You will appreciate this point when you realise that the braiding may be used for the return path from the live point of a switch and if this braiding touches any metal part of the body a short circuit might occur. At the moment we are not quite sure how we shall proceed with this particular body to wire up the body lighting accessories but we wish to make it clear that any further chassis which you wire up on these lines the external braiding is equally well insulated on the outside as it is to the inside conductor. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
