To: "Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}". Oy Cars sent to CANADA. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/Dn29.7.40 The attached are some notes with regard to storage, which should be followed if the cars despatched to Canada are to be kept in good condition. Incidentally, though Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}'s car, 33-G-6, was very nearly a saleable proposition, it suffered from a number of minor defects, experimental solutions to which have been found, but which have never been remedied, owing to lack of manufacturing facilities. A good example of this is the Gearbox, since all our experimental gearboxes are out of date, and were being replaced by a dozen of the final design. 11-B-5 was a more advanced chassis with a number of development features on it, and design of which is not finalized. We have, however, complete records and specifications of both cars, should any work have to be done on the other side of the Atlantic. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
