c. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}4/ML.24.2.40. Dynamos for the Rationalised Range. There are three potential machines available: Lucas 4½", Lucas 5", and R.R. 5". We think that we should carry on with testing all three machines. It seems doubtful if the 4½" machine would be big enough for anything larger than the 4-cylinder cars. Judging by our experience on the Bentley and Wraith the latest R.R. improved 72-slot armature 5" machine should cater for any conditions which are likely to arise. Two essentials to enable the machine to cope with the job:- (1) The use of S.A.E. 20 oil. (2) The use of 48 watt. headlamp bulbs. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
