Bentley Bumper Bar. Replying to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}21/E.17.7.35. We note that the driver of B-2-CW is not impressed with the improvement effected by the Bumper Bar. From our records this car has no dropped front cross member between the head lamps. This cross member is now standardised, from the first chassis in 'D' series, i.e., from chassis B-2-DG onwards. It is really an integral part of the bumper bar scheme, and is necessary to make the 90% cure which has been attained in other cases. The bumper bar alone, however, should have made a noticeable difference, and we should like the opportunity of trying the car with JLE{J. Lee Evans - Chassis Test Manager}, and the driver. We suggest that we should meet the car at the sand pits on Thursday or Friday of next week, at 10.30 a.m. There is no doubt that if a complete cure is required, the dropped front cross member will have to be fitted.
