13th April, 1933

For the attention of Mr. W. A.{Mr Adams} Rowbotham.

Gentlemen,

Hydrogenated Fuel.
-----------

I have to refer to previous correspondence, relative to a sample of hydrogenated fuel stated to have a high flash point, which Mr. Rowbotham brought from the Standard Oil Company's Laboratory in New Jersey after his recent visit.

2. With the last letter on this subject, dated 12th September, 1932, reference HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/RM.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/KT, correspondence with the Standard Oil Company was attached, from which it appeared that a sample of this fuel, sufficient for engine tests, would be available about the end of the year.

3. In this connection, it would be appreciated if you could inform me whether any later information has been received from America, and if there is any prospect of obtaining this fuel for test.

I am, Gentlemen,
Your obedient Servant,

for Director of Scientific Research.

Messrs. Rolls Royce, Ltd.,
DERBY.
