20/25 Marles Steering.

Herewith is N.Sch.4385 which shews the adaptation of the standard 17 Marles steering to suit the 20/25 chassis.

The Adamant Engineering Co. want to know about this soon in order to make the slight modifications to their standard pattern to give us the filler plug in the right place. We have also shown the pendulum lever lubrication which we should like, and it is a question whether they can put it in or we can do it afterwards.

The top end of the worm tube has to be made to suit our steering wheel fixing and control parts. We shall probably wish to try the impregnated rubber bush for the bearing under the wheel, which they recommend. This is shown in L.H. of the two views of the top of the column, though the thickness of the bush is less than standard. They may have something to say about this. Should it not prove satisfactory, we have shown a needle roller bearing on the lines of SpectreCodename for Phantom III as an alternative.

On N.Sch.4381 we have shown the side steering tube geometry we expect to get with the Marles, compared with existing standard.
