BJ5/H2226. 22nd February, 1926. Dear Mr. Smith, "VEEDOL". Amongst the letters in your booklet is included one from Mr. Olley, of the Rolls-Royce Company of America, to Mr. Hives, of our Experimental Department at Derby. Will you kindly ascertain whether your Company had received permission from Mr. Olley, Mr. Hives or our Company for the publication of this letter, addressed by one official to another, (and if so, send me a copy of the authorisation), and whether, in the original letter, Mr. Olley designated himself as Chief Engineer? If official permission was not given for this letter to be published, I feel sure you will wish immediately to give us your undertaking that the publication shall cease forthwith, and if the words "Chief Engineer" were not included in the letter signed by Mr. Olley, that you will kindly ascertain who inserted them and on what authority. Yours very truly, For ROLLS-ROYCE, LIMITED, (Sgd.) B Johnson General Manager. Louis A.{Mr Adams} Smith, Esq., Messrs. British Mineral Oil Products Ltd. 204/206, Gt. Portland Street, W.1. | ||
