re. EAC. 8. & YOUR VISIT TO SOUTH OF FRANCE.

ORIGINAL. Rec'd at WW. evening of 23.4.26.
X7770

As I leave for home on the 28th inst., the above will not be ready for a run here so we must use it for your visit to WW.

I hope before it leaves for France and 10,000 miles we shall get many urgent things fitted -

(1) Lighter front axle.
(2) Slightly lighter radiator.
(3) Still lighter flyWheel & clutch.
(4) The very best petrol tank, big filler, gauge filters, and double parallel reserve compartment.
(5) Improved steering support.
(6) Lighter engine (aluminium, non-detonator.)
(7) Battery in frame or special supporting stepiron.
(8) The very best front springs, say 10% stiffer than old original Silver Ghost standard.
(9) Hydraulic dampers - RR. both axles.
(10) Spare wheel carriers, luggage grid, and all RR. proposed standard fittings to help coachwork.
(11) Ignition - auto-advance that will work with low pressure oil and exactly calibrated with lag anticipating setting.
(12) Cutout with stop or scheme to prevent distortion, although that on 7-EX. has remained OK. since our correction.
(13) Wheels and tyres suitable for 35 lbs. per sq. in.
(14) Improved method of dealing with support, grouping etc, of instruments on the board. I think permanent support from the dash independent of scuttle, all with cream white faces, grouped like 7-EX. or improved.
(15) Economy of pedal position on D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} and shorter steering column.
(16) Improved induction pipe and throttle heating to avoid complication and trouble with valve in exhaust.
(17) If possible some scheme to reduce firing in exhaust when cutout open, such as blowing air into exhaust system.

I know most of these are already arranged and some may not be possible, but we must get sufficient improved parts to justify the expense and not be sorry to have missed this or that this time round.
