Chassis Road Springs.

We are at present, going through a transition period on the design of chassis road springs.

Firth's have made our road springs in the past. They are reliable, but too expensive for the type of car we have in view.

Messrs. Toledo Woodheads are at the present moment evolving a less costly spring, and we are leaving the design of this spring to their specialists.

When we have a reliable spring, particulars will be inserted on RP.247 and will then be standardised for production. Until then Clm. {D. D. Clapham} will supply road springs for new experimental chassis by direct contact with the manufacturers.

As there has been some confusion in the past with regard to exactly what is the specification of some of these experimental road springs, in future it is essential that piece numbers and drawings should be available for every spring that is fitted to a car and EV. {Ivan Evernden - coachwork} and HH. should have copies of these for reference.

A drawing should contain all the information necessary to get a similar type spring from other manufacturers other than Toledo Woodhead.
