This note is to confirm our discussion on your Report, Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/KW.27.12.34, on the subject of the improved 20/25 horizontal carburetter. The main point of discussion was the altered relative position of the throttle edge slow runner and the throttle. The point was raised that with this arrangement the mixture delivered by the slow runner tends to weaken off as the throttle is opened. Provided that the main jet comes in soon enough this feature might not be noticeable on the road. However, the ability of this modified carburetter to fast idle, and idle with the engine cold was raised and you agreed to make some tests on this point. In the meantime we are going ahead with the other modifications which remove the present uncertainty of operation of the standard carburetter due to the interference of the throttle edge with the float chamber depression.
