In reply to your Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}5/LG/24.11.22, I have noted your remarks about the state of the engine of this chassis on arrival at the Works and quite agree that if one of the exhaust valve seatings was badly burnt as a result of inaccurate adjustment for some time, the driver ought to have spotted this and corrected the trouble at the earliest moment.

I am taking the point up with the drivers here, and meanwhile there is no doubt that the power of this chassis was always considerably less than in the case of the 20 H.P. Open Touring Car with the Barker body - Chassis No. 40G9. - a fact which I discussed with Archer when he was down here, and he thought that probably it was due to a slight difference in the timing of the valves. Do you agree to this?
