Dear Sirs, With reference to your letter of the 25th instant we have certainly found your R.R.53 alloy very successful for B.H.B. Pistons and, to overcome trouble that we had with pistons running in high speed engines, we had to develop a special heat-treatment which is covered by the joint patent in the name of your company and that of Major C.R.M.Hutchison. We shall be very pleased to show you the methods we are now employing, or to supply you with specially heat treated castings for experiments. We have at the same time developed our design to stand high revolution speeds and also the extra heat and stresses required for Diesel engines. These we are developing very successfully and we will willingly show you all our latest developments if you will arrange a day to visit us.
