Suitability of the 20 HP chassis for limousine bodies and issues with noise.

We do not consider that it should be accepted that the 20 HP. is not suitable for a limousine body because the first standard limousine as so far proved a failure. One of the first 20 HP. experimental cars which was fitted with a body was 3-Goshawk-ll which was fitted with a Hooper limousine. This car was run a lot by the same Officials who now unanimously condemn the Barker limousine. We suggest bringing this car up-to-date in one or two respects and then let the Sales Officials try it again in order to prove that the 20 HP. car is satisfactory when fitted with a limousine body. We also have a car fitted with a Maythorn Saloon which should be the very worst type of body. This car is infinitely better than the Barker limousine. It was driven by the Amateur Drivers in France and used a lot by CJ. We have looked through the reports and we find not a single complaint as regards booming, exhaust noise or axle noise. Considering the possible trouble we may be in with the standard limousine bodies ordered for the 20 HP. this suggests that before bodies are ordered they should be standardised and agreed to in the same way that chassis parts have to be agreed to. In the case of bodies we appear to order a number of bodies before actually trying a sample! We think the design of bodies for the new chassis should run parallel with the design of the chassis so that on the first
