Complaining about the over-oiling of occasionally used experimental motors, which causes a mess, and requests a change in procedure.

X.3054.-RE OILING OF EXPERIMENTAL MOTORS.
Once a week the Oiler appears in our Experimental shed and fills up the bearings of all the motors. This is all well and good in the case of motors which are running practically continuously, as they require it, but in the case of our experimental motors, which are only run occasionally, this is quite unnecessary and an annoyance. When we have the oil level in the baths nicely adjusted the Oiler comes round and fills them up and the oil leaks out and makes a nasty mess on our table.
Could it be arranged that the Oiler does not come into the Experimental shed, we, in this case, will be responsible that the bearings of the motors do not run dry.
