COPY. X3840 9 La{L. A. Archer} Villa Mimosa, Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence, Par le Lavandou, Var. France. 13.3.23. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} 4-Goshawk-11 - here. I am writing you later - have had bad attack of influenza - it is very destructive and trying to elderly or delicate people, so I have not sent you any notes about the car - hope to send them to W.W. tonight - generally it seems vastly better than this time last year. Ignition and dynamo brushes have been wrong - otherwise my impression of the car is excellent. The French are quite enthusiastic about the new '20' - they call it. Mr. Clark should work to make the dynamo brushes wear better (spark less) and the ignition must not fail. See my suggestions from W.W. in a few days. I understand car should be returned as trip ticket is only for 2 months - one has gone since it left. I hope you or we can get it extended for say - 2 months more - it may be wanted in Paris, so four months will not be too long. I expect to be able to let Maddocks leave here next Monday (19.3.23) Will get the car back somehow. Excuse haste, R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
