45080 To Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/KW.16.7.34. Chassis GYZ-18. Commander Holbrook. Referring to H4/MC.7.7.34, we attach a copy of memo. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}7/KT.5.10.33 which we sent to Sales while Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} was ill, which indicates the power gained from the new carburetter. We also attach a copy of Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}8/KW.3.5.34 sent to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}, in which we point out that the new carburetter gives better acceleration. HE has had several communications on the subject. With regard to the smaller wheels, we have run 18" wheels for long distances on the 20/25 but have not standardised them because it is considered that if tyres are fitted which reduce the gear ratio the ground clearance becomes inadequate. In this particular instance, however, it may be that the ground clearance question will not arise or the owner may agree to a slight reduction of ground clearance. If this is so we would recommend 18" wheels with 6" tyres. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
