RE SPECTRECodename for Phantom III.

We have to consider a programme for the mounting of the bodies of the following cars:-

1. Enclosed Limousine, Demonstration Car, chassis due end of July.

2. Continental Touring Limousine, Demonstration Car, chassis due soon after middle of August.

3. Continental Touring Saloon, Experimental. -body ready end of July.

With respect to No.3, the Experimental car, we propose to mount the body in the usual way at Derby whilst the chassis is in course of completion, Messrs. Sanderson & Holmes carrying out the work.

With respect to the two Demonstration cars, we presume you will wish to have these mounted by Messrs. Park Ward & Co. at their Works, provided the conditions of secrecy permit of this. However, should this be considered impossible and the bodies have to be mounted in Derby, we suggest that the work be carried out by Messrs. Sanderson & Holmes. We have had experience of Messrs. Park Ward & Co. sending their men here and have found it rather expensive whilst in the end quite a lot of the work has to be done by Messrs. Sanderson & Holmes, because there are so many trades involved that it is impossible to keep sufficient Park Ward men here for the whole of the time.

We would be glad to have your decision on this matter, as if we have to mount the bodies here in Derby we have to take greater precautions in examining them during the construction to ensure the correct clearances, because it is our responsibility that they fit when we get them here, whereas if they are mounted by the maker any errors of fit are corrected without charge.
