To CL. from R.{Sir Henry Royce} [strikethrough text] R.R. of America, Inc. (For the attention of C.F.) ORIGINAL H3/G10/1/21. D 12 JAN 1921 RECEIVED X.4216 X.294 X.543 X.3371 RE STARTING AND LIGHTING SCHEMES. I have lately gone closely into the present available schemes of combined starter motor and dynamo, and although there is an arrangement on the Buick which seems good, I still retain my original conclusion that for simplicity of understanding etc. the separate machines are much to be preferred. I can realize that unless a garage keep a specialist in electrical equipment, the ordinary fitters are quite lost with most electrical equipments and combined starters and dynamos are worse than separate machines in case of an electrical fault.
