This motor has maintained its lubrication during severe load tests on the bench and has also been frozen in a refrigerator without the motion being sluggish or affected in any way.

Starter Automatic Switch.

This has been modified by deleting the hold off coil feature. We have effected this by merely placing a short circuiting link from terminal K, the teaser circuit input terminal to terminal T the teaser feed terminal, to the motor.

Lucas High Frequency Horn.

We have fitted one of the new Lucas Alto horns type HF.{H. W. Frost - Coachwork Inspector}722. This horn is the best of any type of horn which we have tested. It has been arranged to re h/v's scheme suspended from the front apron.

Smiths Instruments in R.R. Batch.

A set of Smiths instruments have been fitted for trial. These comprise A.T. speedometer (now controlled by Smiths), Smith clock, oil gauge, thermometer, petrol gauge. A moving iron ammeter was also fitted but we found that the regulator operating oscillated the undamped needle violently and at the last minute we had to replace it with a standard moving coil instrument.

It seems to indicate that moving iron ammeters will be unsuitable when used in conjunction with a voltage regulator unless some reliable form of needle damping can be evolved.

Scintilla Windscreen Wiper.

This has been fitted for comparison with the Lucas type fitted to 18-GY as the Scintilla appears simpler, lighter and more compact as well as being quiet.
