X4291 To EFC from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}5/CB21-1-21. X4291 RE HEAD LAMP DIMMERS - X4291. X 1357 Replying to your EFC3/T20-1-21, we do not know anything about two lamps which are ebing made here, but it is evident that America are agreeable to adopt the standard English arrangement, and the arrangement which we have been urging for some time past, namely, the side lamps to be on the wings instead of on the dashboard. At the present moment these lamps are not sufficiently powerful to make it safe to switch off the head lights when going at any speed. It is necessary to practically stop before switching them off, so that one does not think that it is quite the same thing as dimming head lights. But as it will greatly assist our switchboard to have this arrangement instead of the dimmed head lights, we shall endeavour to get it incorporated in Goshawk II.
