X4305 To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to CJ. c. to R.R.of America Inc. for the attention of OY. R5/G7.9.21. RE POOR QUALITY GASOLINE. X.4305. My impression is that we shall be wise if we at once adopt the exhaust heated throttle, with the valve in the exhaust pipe to improve the heating of the throttle, and the system of collecting the heavy fuel from the induction pipe bends of No.3 and 4 cylinders only; this to be drained into a single jacket on the rear exhaust pipe, in which case it might be necessary to fit the throttle to the front exhaust pipe. The jacket would be made by fitting on rings and tubes to the pipe and welding the same. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
