B.80 No.1 Unit.

In view of the experience gained since we instructed for the B.80 engines the assembly specification of the above unit should be as follows -

(1) Vandervell main bearings.
(2) Sodium filled exhaust valves.
(3) Inlet valve springs and guides (Ph.III parts) as instructed in our memos. for B.60 (Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}7/JH.8.12.38 and Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}1/MH.{M. Huckerby}9.12.38.)
(4) Cylinder head modified in transfer throat to PD.292.
(5) Crank damper to be modified in accordance with By/Ald.{F. Allwood - Experimental Design}9/G.8.12.38.
(6) Gear box to be fitted in accordance with memo. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}3/MH.{M. Huckerby}1.12.38.
