Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} [strikethrough]X3409[/strikethrough] X7L9 Hsl/LG7.10.21. [strikethrough]X4244[/strikethrough] GOSHAWK 11. CLUTCH. With reference to the letter from Messrs. Ferodo dated 5th.inst. We would prefer the Ferodo Bonded Asbestos linings to be machined out to the 8.4" dia. bore. Our presser plates are the same diameters as the Ferodo Rings. The complaint we have with the clutch with the Ferobestos is the shuddering of the car when the drive is picked up from the low gear. The only way we can overcome this is to apply oil to the clutch so that we get a greater pressure in the driving plate before the drive is picked up.
