STANDARDISATION of CHASSIS PARTS.
Description of Parts. 9.5" PENDULUM LEVER WITH OTHERWISE STANDARD STEERING.
Origin. To reduce road shocks and make car parking easier.
Experimental Test Report.
This is exactly the same length of lever that was fitted to 'V' series cars. It gives an overall steering ratio of 15/1 instead of the standard 13/1.
Car at Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence has a ratio of 16 1/2 /1.
Road Test Report.
Run 2000 miles on 8-EX heavy closed car - 4000 miles on 15-EX in France. Gives a rather better steering all round for the troubles we mostly encounter.
Weight of Old Part.
Weight of New Part.
Difference per Car.
Cost of Old Part. £ 3. 13. 2
Cost of New Part. £ 3. 13. 2
Difference per Car. £ Nil.
Signature from Cost Dept. that above is correct. G/Rb.{R. Bowen} 8.5.28.
