40/50 Chassis - Rattling of Brake Ropes.

With reference to our complaints on this matter some months ago, the altered position of the brake equaliser shaft has now been effected, and we have for some time been turning out cars with brakes in this altered position.

We regret to have to report that the rattling of these brake ropes still takes place, and we have today received a complaint from London reading as follows:-

"We are receiving a number of chassis on which you have not bound the stays to prevent the brake ropes rattling.
We invariably find that when a body is fitted that the owner is troubled with these ropes rattling. In view of this will you please arrange that this is done on all chassis. J.L.E."

Our present experience is that whereas before only the side brake ropes were troublesome in this respect, it now appears that both side brake ropes and foot brake ropes are troublesome in this respect, and we feel that the only satisfactory temporary cure for this job would be to fix a rubber\leather gaiter to the radius rod.
