Handwritten note: Taken by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 31.5.40.

Dear Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer},

I acknowledge receipt of your letter of the 24th inst. and have duly noted your remarks.

I would mention, however that at the time of writing the promised report regarding Lp{Mr Lappin}'s car has not arrived, and presumably has been lost in transit, since I understand from Mr. Honeyman that he himself is in possession of a copy.

No doubt you will kindly furnish me with a copy of the report in question, so that I can deal with the matter accordingly.

Yours sincerely,
