What is the present position with regard to Pattison ? The last time I spoke to you I understood that as the complete joining up of the bone in his arm was likely to be a long job you would try to arrange for him to come back here.

As far as we know, there would be no reason why he should not return to Paris for periodical visits, if necessary. At the same time, as soon as his condition has improved sufficiently to live in a normal manner, we can find him some clerical work to do in the Experimental Dept. It is now more than 12 months since his accident, and the present situation must be most demoralizing, both for his wife and himself.
