(11) Cadillac and LaSalle have modified their manifolds so that they run parallel to the ground and not to the engine. Also increased fuel pump sizes by 20%.
(12) Buick silencers are made of Terne plate which is supposed to be immune from corrosion.
(13) A bi-metal strip is used for temperature regulation on the Studebaker generator.
(14) Hudson's are silver-plating terminals exposed to the weather.
(15) Buick's are using an improved type of starter motor switch to preclude gear clashing.
(16) Buick's are using 60% more rubber in their mounting, which now amounts to 40 cubic inches.
They have set their front mounting at right angles to the rotational movement of the power plant.
(17) Hudson's are using a clutch pedal assisting spring.
(18) Hudson's are now using a 3½" diameter propeller shaft.
(19) Buick's have gone back to a single instead of a 2-piece propeller shaft.
(20) Axles.
Propeller shafts being put up in diameter from 3" to 3½".
Buick torque tube and propeller shaft are now single units 74½" long.
Rear axle ratios are being raised.
The new Packard Super 8 which is the same size as our 2.80 has ratios of 3.92 : 1, 4.09 : 1 and 4.36 : 1.
The Cadillac Fleetwood 72 is 4.91 to 1.
