It may be possible with the vacuum pump to arrange the small reserve in the autovac tank as with the pump we do not draw on this reserve to any extent.

Another possible arrangement is to stick to the present scheme and have an auxiliary suction to the autovac which is connected to the starter cock. This means that after running out of petrol one would operate the starter cock in a position so that petrol was sucked from the tank to the autovac. There would be no petrol in the carburetter when this was used.

On the whole however, we recommend not to add further complications, but to do away with the reserve entirely.
