1246 G6/ W. Vs.{J. Vickers} 1/HM.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} 1. 7. 40. To: Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 4-Cyl. Engine Patterns. I regret the delay in replying to your memos in connection with the above parts owing to pressure of work in connection with the transfer of the temporary Foundry and the starting up of the new Foundry at Glasgow, and further delay due to several days absence from work due to illness. Very definitely, of course, I approved of the quotation for the above Patterns, and the reason for the increased cost over the previous quotation for the 6-Cylinder Pattern Coreboxes is very easily explained. I feel, however, that since you have raised this query, it would be advisable from the point of view of all concerned if you would agree that I arrange a meeting between yourself, Mr. Goss of Pattern & Model and myself in Derby at a date to suit your own convenience, and that I request Mr. Goss to bring across his costs details for the pattern equipment for both parts, and give you a detailed explanation for the difference in cost. If you are agreeable to this proposal, will you kindly suggest a date convenient to yourself when I will endeavour to fit in with this. | ||
