20-HP Broken Front Springs.

As discussed with Mr. Clough today, I am returning to you a pair of front springs taken off chassis 41-G-3, P. Harrop Esq.

We have had one or two complaints from customers that their front springs have "gone down", but have not been able to substantiate this statement.

In the above case, however, we have been able to have the car at the Works, and must agree that the off side front spring was down, and on dismantling found that the small bottom leaf of the spring was broken at the front and rear position where it comes in contact with the front axle. The other spring also shows signs of 'digging in' at this point.

On enquiry from the Repair Department, they also confirm that they have had similar experience.

As requested I am returning both these springs to you and shall be glad of your report as to who we can charge with this job, as we have replaced both the springs on this car, also whether you think any action should be taken for future production and retrospectively.
