[Handwritten Annotation] (Struck through) Ken CS Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} WYNN See my letter to Summers please Alum will have to be purchased from elsewhere. (Struck through) Silver Ripple. [Body] Refering to the memo from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} ref. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/h.12.1.44. I have now prepared a further list of steel and aluminium sheet. The quantities appended below should, with reasonable economy, be sufficient to construct ten prototypes plus and also cater for variety of construction. Quantities and Specification. Steel 50 sheets 72 x 48. N.A.B.O. 20 S.W.G. (.036) 80 sheets 72 x 48. N.A.B.O. 21 S.W.G. (.032) 10 sheets 72 x 48. N.A.B.O. 22 S.W.G. (.028) Note. N.A.B.O. signifies "Normalized Auto Body Oiled". The usual additions calling for deep drawing qualities need not apply for hand worked construction. This metal has a superior surface finish for paint application and is sometimes called "silver finish" by paint suppliers. 10 sheets 72 x 48 O.H.S.P.O. 18 S.W.G. (.048). 40 sheets 72 x 48 O.H.S.P.O. 20 S.W.G. (.036). 40 sheets 72 x 48 O.H.S.P.O. 21 S.W.G. (.032). 50 sheets 72 x 48 O.H.S.P.O. 22 S.W.G. (.028). 5 sheets 72 x 48 O.H.S.P.O. 12 S.W.G. (.104). 5 sheets 72 x 48 O.H.S.P.O. 14 S.W.G. (.080). Note. O.H.S.P.O. represents "Openhearth, single pickled, oiled". This is a fairly ductile steel with good welding qualities but not considered satisfactory for coach paint finish. Aluminium. 30 sheets 2.L.16. 18 S.W.G. (.048). 30 sheets 2.L.16. 16 S.W.G. (.064). 10 sheets 2.L.16. 12 S.W.G. (.104). [Handwritten annotation] 72"x48' Please note that this communication supersedes my earlier request for material, ref. Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}/RG.{Mr Rowledge}5/GAB.10.1.44. All steel supplies must be marked for gauge and specifications. [Signature] Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}/RG.{Mr Rowledge} | ||
